April 2017: The West Reimagined
This spring, prints, pastels and paintings by Mary Jo Maute will be featured in “The West Reimagined” at the White Apple Gallery in Whitefish, Montana. Shown alongside work by more than a dozen artists with roots in Montana.

The newly opened White Apple Gallery specializes in contemporary fine art of Montana and the region. The inaugural exhibit "The West Reimagined" will have a grand opening on Thursday, May 4, from 6 - 9 PM.
“I moved to Montana in 1983 with my artist/partner Ted Gibson, to work as an artist in the schools through the Montana Arts Council. We lived and worked in Billings and then Columbus, Montana until our move to Bellingham, WA in 1996.” says Maute, “The incredible landscape and the spirit of camaraderie among the State's artistic community made a lasting impact on my life and work.”
Mary Jo Maute’s work will be joined by a number of good friends and colleagues from Montana including Gordon McConnell, Sheila Miles, Jon Lodge, Jane Deschner, and Tracy Linder.
