May 2018: Honored with Mayor's Arts Award


Mary Jo Maute was honored at the 39th Mayor's Arts Award on May 2, 2018 for more than two decades of service to the Bellingham community. Through her contributions as an artist and her role as Education & Public Programs Coordinator at the Whatcom Museum, Mary Jo has touched the lives of thousands of students and individuals, eager to learn about the culture and arts of the region.

The Mayor's Arts Award is given annually to a selection of individuals, businesses, collaborations, and organizations that demonstrate a contribution to the arts, create opportunities for education and connection, and are "uniquely Bellingham." Honorees were selected by Mayor Kelli Linville from finalists determined by the Arts Commission. To see the full list of recipients, visit the City of Bellingham website.
